Winter is all set in, and there we are, all men with awkward chapped lips. It’s time we take care of it and game up our looks. Chapped lips, which are also known as cheilitis, are characterized as peeling or cracking of skin on lips. Moisturizing is not alone enough to deal with a skin treatment, especially with the lips, which is one of the body’s sensitive parts.
What Causes Chapped Lips?
Chapped lips are caused by dry weather, environmental exposure, biting of lips, and most noticeably not taking care of it during dry winter and hot summer.
There are several home remedies to treat chapped lips but we discuss only three of them here.
How to Treat Chapped Lips –
Starting with the easiest way to treat chapped lips is to apply lip balm every day. Lip balm contains ingredients that help soften your lips. You can wear lip balm to the office, college, or even if you are at home. They are usually made up of white petrolatum, beeswax, coconut oil, and vitamin E oil.
Normal moisturizers are very different from lip balms, as lip balms are made specifically to moisture your sensitive lips. Also, you can enjoy and share the great taste of different flavors on your lips with your closest partners and make them ask for more (Just in case).
The next most effective way is to use a lip scrub. There are different lip scrubs available in markets that are to be chosen wisely. Lips are one of your body’s sensitive parts, and it is important that if you apply any artificial agent, you make the right decision.
You can also use homemade scrubs, which are easy to prepare and are a hundred percent safe. There are many articles on preparing a homemade lip scrub for treating chapped lips. I prefer going with the one which has honey contents in it as honey is one of the important ingredients to protect your lips from peeling and wearing.
Remember to moisture your lips right after you have made a gentle scrub treatment for them. The lip scrub will only remove the dry skin but won’t protect from avoiding Cheilitis. Again, you can use lip balm for the same.
The third step is always to keep you hydrated. I don’t know why people avoid keeping themselves hydrated. Drinking a good amount of water will reduce the risks of diseases in your body and bring a glow to your skin and reduce acne. Men deal with a lot of acne, and the sad part; they cannot shout about it. Drinking a good amount of water will always keep your lips hydrated, and you can avoid chapping.
